I have had the privilege to be the USABOT National CSM for over 5 years serving under three National Commanders.
My Armor history goes back to 1972 when I enlisted. I went to basic at Ft Ord CA, then to Ft Hood where I took 11E AIT/OJT in the 1st Bn, 81st Armor, 1st Cavalry Division before being assigned to 13th Tank, 1st Cavalry Division. There followed 20 years of assignments: 1/73rd AR, 2nd Infantry Division, Republic of Korea, 3rd ACR Fort Bliss, 2nd Bn, 33rd AR, 3rd Armor Division FRG, Dept of Plans and Training Scheduling branch Ft Knox, and yes I was the one who wrote all the training schedules for the 1st Armor Training BDE 1979-1981 so you can complain to me about your blisters at the next Homecoming. I was then selected, (drafter/sentenced) to 3 years in Recruiting Command. Upon completing my sentence I was assigned to the 1st BN, 35th AR, 1st AR Division FRG and then lastly I went back to the 3rd ACR for Desert Shield/Storm and retirement in late 1992.
After retirement I was employed by the Oregon Department of Human services starting in the Child Abuse Hotline and over the years I ended as a district Business and Operations Manager
