I’m LTC (Ret) Kevin Bolke Commander of the 8th Battalion (Rocky Mountain).

I commissioned into the Army from Marion Military Institute, Marion AL in 1995 starting my Armor and US Army career in the Mississippi National Guard (1-198th AR, Nettleton MS) while I finished my college degree at Mississippi State University. Upon assessing onto active Duty in Dec 1998 I joined the 2nd ACR at Fort Polk LA continuing to serve as a Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer. Following my promotion to CPT I PCSed to Germany and over the 5yrs there I was the 1st Infantry Division G3 Ops, Taskings Officer, 2nd BDE S4, KFOR4A Deputy G4, 1-77 AR AS3, and finally Commander A/1-77 AR. Returning to the states at Fort Carson CO I served as the B Company Team Chief and S3 for 3-363 AR (AC/RC). Promoting to Major I made the touch decision to leave the Operations track and moved to the Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA) Functional Area. As an ORSA I served with TRADOC Analysis Centers (TRAC) White Sands Missile Range and Monterey. Returning to the field I served on the re-establishing 7th INF Division staff and finished my career with 4th INF DIV at Fort Carson.

Deployments include KFOR 4A and OIF II

I started in USABOT in 2015 with the Pikes Peak BN prior to moving to Colorado and shifting to the Rocky Mountain Battalion. Following a reorganization of leadership, I became the BN XO and later on the BN Commander. The Rocky Mountain covers most of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. Rocky Mountain BN has hosted the 2021 Annual Tanker Homecoming and is currently slated to host 2027.
